Today im gonna talk abt bird nest ^^Yup, i mean the one that chinese like to eat as tonic. Traditionally, bird nest is regarded as a very good tonic which is good for our lungs. That's why, parents of asthmatic children normally brew bird nest for them.
But, guess wad? According to immunology department of TTS hospital, most of the incidents that resulted in asthmatic attack is when the asthmatic childern took in bird nest. Duh!!
So our lecturer of Immunology actually conduct an experiment to find out what actually in the bird nest caused asthmatic. Asthmatic is caused by an antigen called allergen which gives rise to hypersensitivity. Hypersensitivity refers to specific antigen recognised by our antibodies giving rise to over-whelming response. Hence, asthmatic arose.
Hypersensitivity is also related to allergies to seafood and dustmites. Hypersensitivity is FATAL. The death rate is very high. Ironically, hypersensitivity occurs actually to help us get rid of the "foreign" bad stuffs in our body but in a wrong way. Give 1 example.
Normal Immune System
When bacteria invades into your body, our body's innate immune system (white blood cells such as monocytes, neutrophils, etc) is able to identity them and destroyed them, simultaneously activating the specialised immune system (T cells and B cells). They destroy the bacteria and release chemokines which cause vasodilation of our blood vessels thus resulting in redness and swollen and pain. This is a normal pathway of immunity.
Hypersensitivity
However, for hypersensitivity, it acted almost the same pathway except that the bacteria here is actually is seafood or dustmites or pollens which contained antigens that activate the immune system of our body. So same thing occurs except this time the vasodilation of our blood vessels is too serious resulting in a big drop of ur blood pressure. This big drop in blood pressure results in death for most. Next, chemokines also served to constrict/contract our respiratory pathway. Therefore, difficulties in breathing (asthma) occur and death occurs again. But as you can see, this pathway is actually the same pathway adopted by our immune system to protect our body from harmful bacteria. But in this case, it turns out to be killing us instead.
Do you know why is that our future generation is allergic to more and more weird bacteria? It is actually because that our city is too CLEAN!! Therefore, our body immune system is unable to upgrade itself against all the powerful bacteria and guess what our body's immune system upgrade themselves with? DUSTMITES!! One evidence is that the number of asthmatic cases in undeveloped and developing countries are insignificant compared to Singapore. A CLEAN and GREEN city indeed!!
Do u know that when you are having fever, this is actually a symptom that your immune system is battling against some bacteria or viruses? But wad happen wen u take in panadol? The pain is gone.. Meaning? You actually send in signals to your body's immune system asking the immune system to stop killing. =="
Here is a very funny personal experience from the professor. When he had his first child, the child got a fever and he straight away rushed back from NUS and bring his kid to a nearby clinic. The kid now has asthma. For his second child, once again this child had a fever and this time the prof actually waited until he had finished his work den he brought the second child to a clinic. Tat child had a slight asthma. His third child got a fever again. He don't really care this time, ironically his third child is so far the only child that had no asthma at all. Weird huh?
Bird nest experiment
okay, let's get back to the experiment. So the prof is trying to find out what actually caused asthma, his first hypothesis is that the bird nest must be added with some agar agar to make it heavier so that they can be sold at a higher price, therefore, the agar agar must contain some allergen that causes asthma attack or hypersensitivity. However, his result turned out to be otherwise. he actually collected the serum sample (contain antibodies) from the asthma children and react it with bird nest. He discovered that the antibodies from the children actually bind to the swallow's saliva. Therefore, the ultimate allergen is the saliva of the swallow. Bird nest is formed from the saliva of a swallow.
Conclusion of the experiment
It is the saliva of the swallow which actually react with the asthmatic children's immune system to bring about a hypersentitiviy response in the form of asthma due to constriction of their airway. So think again when your grandparents and parents told you that birdnest is good for your lung. It may not be harmful to you if you are not allergy to the saliva of the swallow but it is defnitely fatal to some asthmatic children.

P.S: If de stupid Wizet dare try to nullified our ranger's skill again such as slowing down de speed of the Hurricane, i suggest all archers should quit MS. Some rangers' skills had been nullified. For eg, inferno which is supposed to burn on de same area for quite some time(eg.5 seconds) had been nullified to b only able burn for 1 second. Wads de point of having inferno den? Next, ranger attacking speed had been reduced. So most likely, i can see the speed of Hurricane will also be reduced or the damage reduced (maybe cannot be stacked with critical or critical hope) by de stupid Wizet in SG.
Lastly, our AP allocations, max can only add up to 999. Eg, dex can only add up to 999 max. So those who are planning to quit MS, i think u can quit now. =)

This is a much clearer video on Ranger. Read the comments on the amount of mp used for that machine skill. 1 arrow needs 9 mp. Now imagine u kip shooting it at that kind of speed. Within 1 second i think can shoot out 8 arrows or more. Ending part, a DK still nid to loot a simulator =.=

Old granny cutting your Q. Wad do u do?
1) Will ask for you r permission to Q in front of you cos she having some leg problem, cant stand for too long blah blah.. For mi, im okay with that and i will allow her to q in front of me.
2) Will act very embarassed and smile at u while continue to cut your Q. Im still okay with that since she knows she's in de wrong in cutting other people's Q.
Yea.. I noe im a nice guy.
3) Act like big fcuk!! Cut in front of you without even bother to look at you. No sign of remorse as if she was a president or someting. Somemore, still got de fug tug face like she's some higher class of people. This is wad my mom describe her as "Yi Lao Mai Lao"
This is what i had done to her to get her attention. Read below.
This morning, i was at the boon lay Fair Price NTUC to buy daily needs. So while im q'ing for 2 minutes, there came this old granny. She stood beside me and without giving any que such as de "want to cut Q face" or asking whether can she stand in the front, she cut straight in front of me. Btw, behind me theres a long Q. She cutting Q im still okay since shes OLD. BUT!!
What pissed me off was her fugging attitude. I had stressed that in my previous post, i super like to irritate those "Qian Da face" people especially when i was in de army. The old lady gave me this face that i had owned her money, killed her grandson and husband that kind of face.
Isn't it ironical? Im not de one cutting her Q and yet she gave me such a face wen i should be de one whose having such a face right? That's it man!! But im not going to scold her right in front of de crowd and cashier since she's old. I should respect old people right? Yup! So to show my respect.. I shouted to my parents who was standing outside the NTUC. That's wad i had shouted:
"Need to wait longer le!! Cos got a OBASAN cut my Q!!"
LOL!! That's it man!! De old granny face changed from "proud" to "xia suay" face. Too bad, i didn't took a before and after pic of her face. LOL!! So funny.. Den de cashier and everyone was looking at de old granny.
And my mom started to walk beside me and purposly talked to my dad say "This kind of people ar.. Yi lao mai lao.. Jie (my nickname) should go and talk to her say dun cut Q mah. Now so many people still dare to cut Q.. Blah bLah Blah.."
Wah!! The old lady sian diao.. Finale, i shouted out a more powerful phrase.
"Ya Lo!! Cut Q still act like big fug!!"
^^ This time, i think de old granny is throw face until no face to throw liao!! LoLx!! I very bad right?
Nah.. Im NOT bad lo. If im bad, i will straight confront her face to face. But i respect her!!
So i use this so called "ANONYMOUS" tactic. I named this tactic as "Anonymous" bcos it like shooting words indirectly to the person that im targetting. How to explain ar? Is like wad i said i did not said it to the person directly but i pretended to shout it out to my parents, letting everyone and "her" know that my words are refering to "her".
After we paid our stuffs, my mother tell me that i should talk to her face to face. My reply was simple. I respect her as an old granny so i let the rest of de crowd to decide whether what she had done is right or wrong even though she is old.
My points to the crowd are 2 simple sentences. First, an old lady is cuttin my Q. Second, cutting people's Q still give people that big fug face.
If she was to be like de previous 2 types of grannies that i had met, i would hav kip my mouth quiet and let it go. But i cannot tolerate people who are in de wrong and yet still act as if what they had done is correct and to be proud of.
Oh yea, i will make you throw face until all crowd are pointing fingers at you. But i did not do anything. I just simply shouted out 2 simple sentences to my parents.
OOps, too bad, de crowd heard that also. Im so sorry. LoLx!!
Anyway, if it was an old man instead. Face to face talk lik a man is gonna b my way of dealing such ting. But frankly speaking, i had never met an old man tryin to cut Q so far. ==""

Den on de way home, read 1 chapter on stat thinking den wanted to take a rest. This time i made myself very comfortable lo, i curled myself with my legs against the front seat back and huddled my bag while listening to my Sony Erisson hp. Wah.. fell aslp again. ZzzzzZzz.. This time lucky again. Got a SAJC girl woke mi up if not i stucked inside the bus also duno. Again, i tot i looking at a fairy. LoLx!! Super paiseh, i woke up with a "oops"!!
